Wednesday work parties in the garden: Weekly from 9 am – 4 pm, March through October. Help grow produce for the Food Bank!

A week in review:

Everybody meet our new crew member Connar! A lover of animals, a hard worker, a joy to be around, and an OFS Graduate! Connar is from Kansas, has been farming for 3 seasons and will be with us for 6 months- we are absolutely stoked about it! Her favorite thing about farming is eating all the vegetables, growing flowers, and sharing food with the community! Yay Connar!! 🌻🐑

We had such a lovely time with a group of UW students this weekend! They helped us clear out our new tunnel to get ready for Tomatoes and they were really stoked about the size of our worms!

We built a Hoop House! A big one! It took us almost all of February, a good bit of March, 2 attempts at the plastic, and lots of help! We are so so excited for the season extension this tunnel will provide us and in turn all the food it will help us grow for our community! We are thrilled to have it done in time for tomato season which we have been dreaming of all winter long! We feel very lucky to have received an NRCS grant to be able to build this structure, and so grateful for all of the community support we received throughout this build!🛠️🍅💕🌱

@foggyhillfarm donated a ton of their old flower seed to us recently! Aside from being our friends, these rad farmers are generous community members! They know we don’t have a flower seed budget but desperately love growing flowers for bouquets in the food bank and to make our garden spaces more beautiful! Katherine can’t choose which she’s most excited to grow but is pretty stoked about Strawberry Fields Gomphrena and Green Gold Bupleurum, Carlee is most excited about King Size Apricot Aster! We are so excited and so grateful to be a part of a community of growers that help each other out!

Come help us give our orchard some love next Friday 1-4 at our Earth and Ocean Month event!
