Community Grown

The Good Cheer Garden has been providing between 5,000 and 8,000 lbs of fresh produce per year since it was created in 2009. Add to that the generous donations of produce from local gardeners and farmers, and the Food Bank has been able to provide fresh fruits and vegetables year round. A special thanks to the farmers at the Bayview Farmer’s Market who donate unsold produce after the market. And also to the Rotary Club for their gleaning at the Greenbank Farm Training Center.

Good Cheer can’t meet the demand for fresh produce without the help of local growers. We are so grateful to all those who share their harvest with Good Cheer!  To support your efforts, we have donated seeds, and we will also be providing flats of veggie starts to gardeners to grow up for the Food Bank. If you are interested in being a community grower for the Food Bank, please call (360) 221-6046 or email goodcheergarden@gmail.com.

Do have have more fruits or vegetables than you can handle, but don’t have the person power to harvest them? Let us know and we will send a team of gleaners to help harvest your crop for the Food Bank.
