Finally harvesting from the field

It’s taken a while in this cold spring weather, but we were finally able to harvest from the field! Bok choi, kale, lettuce and some chard had been slowly growing under the floating row covers, and was finally big enough.

The carrots and beets are also coming up nicely now. Let’s hope for warm weather so we can get back on track!

The herb boxes were cleaned up, and the old raspberry bed weeded, manured and turned over. Jerusalem artichokes are coming up at the NW corner of the garden.

It was great to have a picnic lunch in the sun after the past few weeks of huddling in the garden shed! Time for celebration!
