Volunteer tornado moves sheds at Good Cheer Garden!

A whirlwind of volunteers descended upon the Good Cheer Garden for our first work party in February and moved two sheds to new locations! We needed to make space for the donated Juliana greenhouse and clean up the various garden supplies that had accumulated.

First we needed to empty and move Tinny, our metal storage shed, to make space for the greenhouse.

Tinny was slid over, and next it was Bluey’s turn (the tool shed)!

Thanks to the Bayview Farm and Garden and their handy tractor, Bluey was moved inside the garden (where it will be painted green to match the garden shed.)

An amazing day of relocating structures that got the garden ready for the greenhouse!

We even had time for a picnic lunch with salad greens from the garden (arugula, corn salad, mustard greens, kale and chickweed), and turned over and weeded four more beds in the garden!

A big thanks to all the volunteers who made it happen: Bayview Farm and Garden and Brian Durham, Judy Bierman, Sarah Birger, Julie Buktenica (and Lizzie who caught another vole), Kate Calderwood, Susan Chen, Sandra Horton, Tammy Horton, Lucas Jushinski, Gary Koepplin, Pete Little, Janet Ploof and Jo Stevens. Gratitude also to the sunny February day!
