Lots of planting and growing!

It’s been a great spring in the Good Cheer Garden! We’ve already been harvesting lots of greens, and have been enjoying fresh salads at our work party picnics.

The bok choi crop has been spectacular! We took off the cloche to harvest it, and then planted lettuce starts where the bok choi had been.

Before planting, we cleaned up the beds that had turned over cover crop. Volunteers at the Wednesday work party, and middle-schoolers from the South Whidbey Youth Connection lent a hand!

Planting the first carrot row of the season!

We’ve started work on the slope that grew squash last year, and now is being terraced for the next crop rotation. It’s hard work, with lots of rocks!

Last but not least is our wonderful resource shed that is now getting a floor of salvaged old-growth barn flooring.
